The truth is that the only approval you have ever needed is from yourself. You are not better or worse for your online following. You should never compare yourself to anyone, especially those you’ve never met.

What would happen if one day you just disconnected, if you pulled the plug on your social media? What would I miss if I wasn’t on social media? What would change? This is something I had to ask myself before I made the sudden choice to just not exist online.
If a person believes in the stigma, and they go through a trauma, such as grief or something that leaves them with a form of mental illness. Would they be able to seek support?
Social media is not at all a cure, we shouldn’t self diagnose and we need to limit the time that we do spend online. However, it can prove an aid for the people who need some additional help and support while they are waiting for the professionals.
It sounds silly to feel like this. When I feel like I want to die, or leave the country, just because my friends ignore my messages. Or because they are never the ones to message first or make plans. And they never, check if I am ok.
With more access than ever to share your thoughts and feelings with as many or as little people as you would like. It’s opened a whole new world of opportunity for public figures and advocates. For me, I am so passionate about raising awareness of mental health and suicide, I
